How to make Froot Loop Squares

Come on everyone. Let’s make our Rice Krispies jealous. As part of the many desserts for our daughter’s Rainbow Birthday party, we decided to make Froot Loop squares. Froot Loop Treats? What do we call these? Cereal marshmallow treats with an extra dose of sugar and food coloring sounds accurate.

How to make Froot Loop Squares

Easiest steps ever.

What you need:

  • Kelloggs Froot Loops or Generic Fruit Loop Cereal
  • One bag of mini Marshmallows
  • Butter or Margarine
  • Spatula
  • Cooking Spray

STEP 1

Microwave about 2 tbs of butter or margarine with a bag of mini marshmallows. I used a microwave friendly mixing bowl for this.

STEP 2

Pour in approx 2 cups of Froot Loops.

Mix.

Add 2 more cups and so on.

NOTE: I used Great Value Fruity Whirls from Walmart because the Canadian version of Kellogg’s Froot Loops doesn’t have the blue froot loop in it. What the…?

STEP 3

Keep mixing.

In fact, mix well with a greased up spatula. Cooking spray is your friend. I realized that about a minute into this.

STEP 4

Pat your froot loops marshmallow mix into a lasagna tray or other rectangular baking dish. Set it in your fridge for about 30 minutes or less.

Cut up and serve. Voila! Rainbow Froot Loop Squares!

TIP: Yes you can freeze these. I put them in tupperware lined with parchment paper in the freezer a week before the party and thawed them out the morning of (they thaw very fast).

These were them at our daughter’s Rainbow Birthday party. There are many and I mean MANY more Rainbow Treats on that table, including:

And of course these, Rainbow Froot Loop Squares!
