Christmas

Modern Christmas Cards

I am very, very, very behind in making and sending out all of this years Christmas cards. Then again I checked last years date of when I did the felt Christmas card post and it was Dec 10th. So technically I am almost on time. With my lateness.

Truthfully however this year I am probably sending out only a handful and the rest are being hand delivered (like my upcycled coffee bag cards). I think how and why we not just send but give cards, has really changed in this modern world of text messaging.

I came up with these because I wanted an easy idea that my older daughter could replicate and make her own set for her teachers. And there is nothing easier than a paper punch and glue. And that’s all these are made out of – tons of paper stars punched out and then formed into the shape of a tree, ready to be customized in the colours you’d like.

I obviously cannot make up my mind on this blog as to what Christmas style I like – modern vs vintage vs rustic vs Canadiana – but the truth is, I honestly love them all. So I just make whatever project strikes my mood at the time.

Because at the end of the day, creativity doesn’t have to be typecast under a decor style to be appreciated.
