I warned you. The Breville Boss arrived in our home and here I am thinking I am Martha Stewart. Though I strongly suspect Martha would be making avant-garde smoothies with home grown kale and mystical chia seeds from some plant she propagated on her own that I’ve never heard of.
So you get my recipe – a 3 ingredient smoothie for all the time you do not have on Christmas morning, while asking your kids to non-chalantly pose in front of the Christmas tree before they tear apart the presents. Is one good family photo too much to ask for? Apparently so. Now, we always do cinnamon buns and pancakes and bacon for breakfast on Christmas morning. But aside from coffee, the kids usually drink milk or OJ.
Well not this year. This year they get their pretend fancy drinks, which for the record, killed me to photograph in this daylight savings time lighting nightmare. But they’re so easy to make. Ready? 3 ingredients.
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1 cup of vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup of ice cubes
If you want to be rebellious add some frozen peaches in this to give it a different sweetness. And if you want an adult version at 8 am on Dec 25th, grab the champagne and make yourself a smoothie Mimosa (PSA – this is after we make the kids the one without champagne and if you’re wondering why I had to even write that, you should see the comments bloggers get). Put everything into your blender, mix and in a minute you’re the best kitchen morning chef ever.
And now for gratuitous photos of the same item, as per unofficial blogging rules.
