DIY Apple Mobile/Wreath

I apologize for doing another embroidery hoop craft so soon after the Upcycled Planter. How very Canadian of me.

Blame wreath season starting and my older daughter who I am secretly convinced has her own Pinterest account who was like “Mom can we make some fall decorations for our room?” I always make my kids a wreath or a garland or something for them. And this happens every season, so suddenly I’ve become that person that says to them “Do you really need a wreath for Valentine’s Day?” and I get the look of “I don’t understand the words that are coming out of your mouth” from my kids wide eyes.

It’s accept the blame because this is all my fault for doing so many crafts.

Because we are in Apple picking season and are going to head out to get some apples in the orchard next week, I decided to make them a super simple Fall Apple Decoration.

First things first, I made an apple stencil using simple red card stock.

Then using spray adhesive I glued the apple shape to some red velvet fabric I had leftover from last years Queen of Hearts costume.

Used some wood veneer and felt for the leaves and stem.

After I glued it all together and hung it in the middle of embroidery hoop.

Sweet, simple and cute! Most of all uncomplicated.

That’s the mantra for this coming season. Please remind me of that when I start on Halloween projects and find lots of wine.

Ummm… I LOVE this. So simple, but yet, so stylish. Also – how do you cut like that? I swear, you must have the steadiest hands.

This almost makes me miss the days when I did fall decor-y things for my kids. Almost. 😉
